My name is Mike Coote and I am making a forest garden at the back of a semi-detached house in a small town in Southern England called Newbury. This blog will attempt to record the process of making and looking after this garden. It will also comment on the local wildlife and record some of my observations.

As I write this I get older. I’m 72 now and this age brings with it questions about the world and where it is going. Within the blogs I will reflect on these questions and offer observations. The only answer I have is to plant a garden.
