Be More Bean

Just remembered, I’ve got a blog to write. It’s after eleven and until this moment I hadn’t even thought of it. I’m sitting at the allotment in the sunshine drinking coffee and admiring my broad beans, at the same time wondering if what my life really needs is a degree in history and accessing the OU website to see what’s available. Nothing that appeals, as it happens. I’ve decided this morning that I have not yet found my true purpose, and the right course of study would help.

The broad beans do look very happy. They know what they have to do. Maybe I need to be more bean.

Sam and Ben’s wedding tomorrow. I tried on my suit this morning and tied my bow tie – I’ve learnt to do that since Wednesday. I looked pretty cool!

That’s about it for today. I’m very excited about the wedding tomorrow, and can’t think about much else. I shall be wearing my brother Tim’s cuff links. He died a very long time ago, and I am glad to take a memory of him to the wedding of a son of mine he never met.

Maybe after all the excitement, as the days start to lengthen and the new year begins, I can remember that growing vegetables is – I can’t find the words now, too busy in the head – all I can find is Be More Bean. They know!
