Someone once said to me that to protest is to be part of the establishment. The establishment will continue to exist as long as there are people to agree with it AND people to disagree with it.
Debate is the solution to nothing. It is simply a game played out by people who have nothing to lose with the masses as playing pieces.
Silence falls. The music stops.
There is problem with what I am saying because in order to understand what I am saying you first have to read it. And in a way I don’t want you to read it. I want you to think for yourself.
There are no solutions and nobody is to blame. The only place to start if you want a better world is with your neighbour. And not just the one you like because he has a similar background to you. The other one too. The one who looks a bit weird. The one who won’t stop talking. I’m not sure what you have to say to your neighbour and I don’t know what will result from this interaction but I am certain this is the way to start.
You have to be honest. You have to tell your truth. That truth may be very hard to find and will certainly be coloured by your experience of life. There is a blog I follow. She writes very beautiful poems about her life. They are deeply moving and beautifully honest. She also writes about Jesus. Because she is in America the notifications of her new posts get to me in the middle of the night. I often wake and check my phone. I get an email if there is a new post and if there is one from her I open it. If it is a poem I read it with joy. If it is a sermon I turn over and go back to sleep. I love her poems; I never read her sermons.
